This page explains how the content on customstocks.us - the learn articles, the glossary and the calculators - gets written, sourced, checked and corrected. It exists so you can judge for yourself how much weight to give what you read here.

Who Writes These Guides

Everything on this site is written and maintained by the CustomStocks team at CustomApps LLC, the studio that builds the CustomStocks paper trading app. We are app builders and market educators, not licensed financial advisers, and the site never pretends otherwise. That background shapes the content in one useful way: a trading simulator has to get the mechanics right before anyone writes about them, so order types, buying power, dividends and valuation math are things we have implemented in code, not just read about.

Our Sources

Educational claims are checked against primary sources: regulator and exchange materials for market mechanics, company filings for anything about financial statements, and official IRS publications for tax figures - the thresholds in our capital gains tax calculator come from IRS Revenue Procedure 2025-32 for the 2026 tax year and are dated where they appear. Market prices in the CustomStocks app come from financial data providers. Where a number can drift over time - rates, thresholds, store-listing facts - we prefer to date it rather than let it silently age.

Accuracy, Updates and Corrections

Every learn article records when it was published and when it last materially changed, and we move the updated date only when the content genuinely changes - never to look fresh. When facts move, because a tax year rolls over or an app feature ships, we re-verify against the primary source and update the affected pages together. If you spot an error, email info@customapps.us; we will check the claim against its source and correct the page.

Everything on this site and in the app is education about how markets work, practiced with virtual money. We do not recommend stocks, predict prices or promise outcomes, and no calculator here is a substitute for professional advice on your own situation. CustomStocks is a simulator: no real money, no real trades, and no brokerage services. CustomStocks is not a registered broker-dealer.

customstocks.us runs no advertising, no analytics and no trackers, and the calculators run entirely in your browser - nothing you type into them is sent anywhere. No article or tool placement is paid for, and there are no affiliate links. The only products mentioned are our own apps, and when they come up we say so plainly.
